Alan R. Hackenberg, affectionately known as "Tiny," passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 13, 2025, in Albion, NY. He was born in Brockport, NY, on March 19, 1957, to Robert and Clara (Kingdollar) Hackenberg and was a life-long resident of this area. Tiny lived a life rich in family, service, and community involvement.

Tiny leaves behind his beloved wife of 47 years, Sue, and a family that was his pride and joy. He was a devoted father to Amy (Larry) Richardson of Albion, Tim (Shannon Popovich) Talbot of Barker, Tammy (Mike) Yaskulski of South Carolina, and Eric (Sherri) Hackenberg of Albion. He was also a cherished grandfather to 16 grandchildren: Mikayla, Tre, Cameron, Emily, Aidan, Shelby, Karlie, Jakob, Jaydin, Nathan, Tye, Kalleigh, James, Kara, and Mickenzee, and a proud great-grandfather to five: Jenny, Dalton, Braxton, Ainslee, and Camilla. Tiny is also survived by his brothers, Steven (Cheryl) Hackenberg of Greece and Mark (Lorna) Hackenberg of Hilton, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Clara (Kingdollar) Hackenberg, his brother Joel, and his niece Candace.

Tiny served honorably in the Navy during the Vietnam War, embodying the spirit of dedication and service. His career at Rochester Products as a general laborer was marked by hard work and a strong work ethic. Tiny was a committed member of the American Legion Post #35 of Albion and St. Mary's Archer's Club. He proudly served as a member of the Barre Fire Company for 50 years.

Tiny enjoyed life's simple pleasures, including 4-wheeling, fishing, and mowing his lawn. He was known for his outspoken nature and loved engaging in lively discussions, often presenting opposing views with passion.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Tiny's life on Tuesday, November 18th, at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home, located at 21 West Avenue in Albion. The family will receive friends from 12-2 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2 PM. Interment will be held privately at the family's convenience at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 1344 University Ave., Suite 270, Rochester, NY, 14607, in Tiny's memory.
