(Albion/San Francisco) Alan Carl Penna age 52 passed away unexpectedly January 8, 2024 in San Francisco, CA. He was born February 12, 1971 in Albion, a son of Carol (Coloney) Evans and the late Matthew Penna.

He attended Holy Family Parish in Albion. Alan loved music, he played the guitar and drums and was known as “drummer Al” to many who knew him. He loved the Grateful Dead and his Grateful Dead family. Having a green thumb, Alan grew the biggest garden and enjoyed sharing his vegetables with everyone. He had a huge heart and would do anything for anyone in need, he would give his shirt off his back. He loved to travel, especially to Hawaii. But most importantly he loved his friends and spending time with his family.

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his by his step-father Bob Evans.

He is survived by his son Ohia Scott Stults; mother Carol; step-mother Charlene Penna; grandmother Rose Gifaldi; siblings Paul Penna, Jodi (Richard) Gaines, Matthew Penna, Kate Penna; step-brother Joe (Shelley) Vespi; nephews Christian Gaines, Brian (Meaghan) Penna, Luke and Kyle Gaines; great-niece Rosie, Avery and Willow Gaines; great-nephew Jackson Gaines; aunt Joanne (Richard) Aldrich; uncle George (Jennifer) Coloney as well as many close, dear friends.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be at Holy Family Parish, at a date to be announced. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Holley.
