Anthony “Tony” Palermo, 65, of Albion, New York, passed away on April 6, 2026. Born on July 23, 1960, Tony was a lifelong resident of Albion, where he built a life rooted in family and a deep love for the outdoors.
Tony was predeceased by his parents, Onofrio “Nof” and Barbara Palermo. He is survived by his three sisters, Pamela Bennett (Mark Johnson), Valerie (Alan) Wetherbee, and Nicole Palermo, along with his beloved nieces and nephews: Gregory (Tisha) and Joshua (Jamie) Bennett, Joseline, Sonia, Jasmine and Nicholas Ballines, Haley (Jeffrey) Ashbery and Jennifer (Ian) Wetherbee, Dakota (Conte); great nieces and nephews Mason, Ryleigh, Joshua "JJ", Jayden, Macie, Jaidyn, KK, Dylan, Kathryn whom he embraced as his own as well as several step-nieces, step-nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins
Tony found his greatest happiness in the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, always returning home with stories to share. He valued time spent camping with his family and being at the “butcher shop” with his close friends, where laughter and storytelling were always in abundance. His nephews, Greg and Josh, especially looked up to him and treasured their time and stories with “Uncle Ton”.
Tony will be remembered for his humor, compassion, and generous spirit. He considered everyone he met a close friend and was always ready with a smile, a story, or a helping hand. His powerful, unmistakable laugh will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Tony’s legacy lives on in the memories, traditions, and stories shared by his family—especially the cherished tradition of “calling dibs” and gathering together, just as he loved.
The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, 21 West Ave. Albion, Tuesday April 14th, 4:00pm-6:00pm where a brief service will follow at 6:00pm. Tony loved the Buffalo Bills and hunting, so come dressed in your bills gear or in camouflage.
