Arnold A. D'Amico

March 5, 1939 — January 7, 2023

D’AMICO- Arnold Arthur Of Leesburg, VA, January 7, 2023. Beloved Husband of 58 years to Elenna Monacelli D’Amico; dear father of Arnold (Ana Maria) and Michael (Eileen); loving PopPop of Nicholas, Jonathan and Angelena D’Amico. Devoted Brother-in-Law of Elizabeth Passarell, Philbert Monacelli and the late Richard Monacelli and Larry Passarell. Cherished Uncle, Cousin and good friend to many. Arnold passed away peacefully, in God’s hands, with his family at his side.

Arnold was born in Albion, NY, in 1939, to Arthur and Minnie (Nenni) D’Amico with a beautiful, warm smile he wore his entire life. He graduated from Albion Central High School in 1956 and Niagara University in 1961. While serving in the US Army (Capt.), he and his dearly loved Elenna married, and Arnold embarked on a career in public accounting and real estate project management with John Portman and Associates, including the Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles. After open-heart surgery, Arnold managed his heart disease for over 40 years, showing others the example of discipline and hard work concerning cardiac health. He was an active parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish (Decatur, GA), Sts. Felicitas and Perpetua Church (San Marino, CA) and St. Anne’s Church (Smithfield, NC), and was an advocate of St. Francis High School (La Canada, CA) and Niagara University. Arnold was also an avid Notre Dame, New York Yankees and Buffalo Bills fan!

Arnold was a very kind, gentle, generous and unassuming man, who was loved by all who knew him. He made new friends, and kept up with old ones, throughout his life. He especially enjoyed traveling to family and school reunions, and recounting stories with friends of their antics from days past. He was active in charitable causes for veterans and children’s health, and continued his involvement with tax preparation services for seniors into recent years. His greatest achievement is his family, as evidenced by the amount of love he poured into each member and his enjoyment of life’s moments, big and small, with them. His family is eternally grateful for the blessing of their husband, father, grandfather, and the gift of his love. Arnold followed God, practiced his Catholic faith, relished his family and celebrated our great country. Faith. Family. Country. He will be missed by all.
