Barbara A. LaPlante, age 78, died peacefully at her home July 10, 2026. She was born October 21, 1947 in Rochester to John and Clara (Judd) Rachow and was a life-long resident of this area.
Barb worked as a secretary at St. Joseph's Villa in Rochester until her retirement. She was an avid reader, enjoyed her flower gardens and was a very family oriented woman that adored chasing after her grandchildren. Mrs. LaPlante was predeceased by a son: Ernie LaPlante and a sister: Susan Rachow.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years Carl, her children: Nicole (Brian) Lonnen of Kent, Frederick (Jennifer) LaPlante of Holley, Amy (George) Zimmerman of PA, 7 grandchildren: Sheena, Jordan, Taylor, Skylar, Ernie, Hunter, Hailey, her great grandchild: Whitley as well as several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours and services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Barbara's arrangement have been entrusted to the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home of Holley.
