Carolyn J Ashley

(Ogdensburg/Morristown) Carolyn J. Ashley age 89 passed away September 22, 2023 at the Martin Linsin Residence surrounded by her family. She was born October 1, 1933 in Ogdensburg, NY a daughter of the late William and Cora Matott) Dupree.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son Richard Ashley, Jr.; sister Vivian McCaffrey; brothers Henry, Harold, Larry and William Dupree.

She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Richard Joseph “Joe”,Sr. whom she married on October 17, 1953; daughter Michelle (Brian) Hofstra; grandchildren Amy (Brian) Aina, Jason (Lindsay) Hernandez, Bryan (Gi Gi) Hofstra; several great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

There are no prior calling hours. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery in Ogdensburg, NY. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Orleans, 14080 NY-31, Albion NY 14411. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Albion.
