Charles Grierson Signor Blake entered into rest on September 8, 2022.
He is survived by his loving family: wife, Kandie Blake, children, Andrea (Michael) Brown and Kevin Blake, stepdaughter Brynlee (Justin) Hairston, grandchildren, Seth and Emelia, brother Paul Blake, sisters Dorothy and Lynda Blake, and his uncle Michael (Nicki) McFarland, as well as numerous cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Tony Blake.
Charlie was born in Albion, NY in 1949 to the late Francis and Ellen Blake.
He graduated from the Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor, CT, and went on to graduate from Union College in Schenectady, NY. He worked as a bank manager in Albion for many years before beginning a twenty-year career as a Supervisory Loan Officer at the Small Business Association, in the Office of Disaster Assistance. During his time with the SBA, he was transferred to Dallas Fort Worth where he met and married his wife, Kandie.
Charlie enjoyed watching sports, always rooting for his hometown teams and his favorite golfers. He was an avid reader and loved country music. Family and friends were incredibly important to Charlie, and he enjoyed staying in touch with his many lifelong friends and providing love and support wherever and however he could to his friends and family.
The family will be present to receive friends on SUNDAY September 25 from 5-7 pm at Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home, 21 West Ave.- Albion. A funeral service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, 26 S. Main St.- Albion on MONDAY at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment in Mt. Albion Cemetery.
Throughout his life, Charlie enjoyed supporting many causes near and dear to his friends and family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to a charity of your choice in Charlie’s name to carry on his tradition of support.
