Daniel Mace

(Barker) Daniel R. Mace age 83, passed away July 7, 2025, at Elderwood of Lockport Nursing Facility. He was born October 3, 1941, in Elmira, a son of the late Daniel Lawrence and Alice (Bargasser) Mace and had lived in this area most of his life.

Dan worked as head foreman for McGonigle Hilger Roofing retiring after 37 years. He was very active and was the former president of the Barker Lions Club. He enjoyed fishing, boating, water skiing, snow skiing and traveling. After retiring, he and his wife traveled, visiting almost all 50 states, making friends wherever he went. He was known as a jack of all trades because he could fix just about anything. Dan had a great sense of humor, was quick with a joke and loved to make people laugh. But most importantly, Dan loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his 1st wife Karen Mace.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, GeorgeAnne (Mullin) Mace; children Daniel Mace, Susan Maybach, Kathleen Garrett, Julie (Michael) Socie, David Mace; grandchildren Kyle, Nick, Victoria, Josh, Samantha, Seth, Ethan, Noah, Hans, Ella, Madeline, Claudia, Pate, Averie, Abbigale; 8 great-grandchildren; siblings Alice (John) Meahl, Joann Whipple, Lewellyn (Sharon) Wilson, Nancilee Mace, Lottie Bernas; daughter-in-law Candace Mace as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

There are no prior calling hours or service. Memorials may be made to the Barker Lions Club, P.O. Box 123, Barker NY 14012. Arrangements were entrusted to the Sherrie Bream Funeral Home, Gasport.
