David F. Forness

David F. Forness, age 85 of Gasport, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026 following a long illness.

Born August 27, 1940 in Lockport, he was the son of the late Charles and Veronica (Steblein) Forness. David graduated from DeSales High School, Class of 1958. He furthered his education at the Erie County Technical Institute where he earned his Electrician License. David was a faithful employee of Harrison Radiator/Delphi in Lockport for 42 years. On August 10, 1973, he married the love of his life, Nancy Sutter, and was a loving and devoted husband for their 52 years together.

David was a lifelong member of Hartland Bible Church where he served as an Elder, as well as Grace Bible Church in Newfane. He will be remembered for being a leader in his community and how he "never met a stranger." David was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He also enjoyed gardening and collecting stamps.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Paul R. Forness in 2010.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy; his brother, C. Edward Forness; his children, Kateri and Daniel (Summer) Forness; and his grandchildren who were the light of his life, Thomas, Brooke, Dakota, Sarah and Micah.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 16 from 9:30-11:00 AM at Sherrie Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main St., Gasport. David's funeral service will immediately follow calling hours at 11:00 AM. Interment will be held privately in Orangeport Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions in David's name may be made to the Grace Bible Church, 6023 Dutton Pl, Newfane, NY 14108.
