David R. Mathes

Obituary of David R. Mathes David R. Mathes age 87 died on January 13, 2011 at his home. He was born July 7, 1923 in Lyons, NY, a son of the late Roy and Rose (Dudley) Mathes and had been a lifetime resident of this area. David was a lifetime member of the Barre Center Presbyterian Church and the Barre Grange. He was a founding member and director of the Orleans County Soil Conservation Service and with Helen, began the Orleans County 4-H Fair in 1946. David was proprietor of Mathes Farms, a Century Farm now in the 8th generation of the family.
