(Barre Center) Donald C. Joslyn age 86 went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus on September 21, 2022. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 13, 1935 in Batavia, a son of the late Cedric and Marjorie (Everett) Joslyn and had lived in this area all of his life.
Don graduated from Albion High School and then attended Delhi State College. He served in the US Army National Guard. He worked with his father for Joslyn Construction Company for many years and then as a teacher at Niagara Orleans BOCES teaching building trades. He was active in the Boy Scouts and attained his Eagle Scout and helped build the chapel at Camp Dittmer in Phelps, NY. Don grew up and was an Elder at Barre Center Presbyterian Church. With volunteers from the church, Don helped remodel, adding an addition to the church. He was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and enjoyed hunting, going to Joslyn Bennett (JOBE) hunting cabin, golfing, spending time with his family; especially his granddaughter Katie.
In Addition to his parents, Don was predeceased by his brother Elwin.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 ½ years, Maralyn “Max”; daughter Jacqueline (Michael) Callari; son Dean (Amy) Joslyn; granddaughter Katrina (John) Gerber; brothers-in-law Joseph (Lorraine) Kibler, Richard (Sandra) Kibler and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank Medina Memorial Hospital staff, especially Robin Jurs for the personal care and compassion that was shown to our family.
The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Ave. Albion on Sunday September 25th 1:00pm-4:00pm. His Funeral Service will be held Monday at 1:00pm at the Gaines Carlton Community Church, 14585 Ridge Rd., Albion NY 14411. Burial will be in Mt. Albion Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Supportive Care of Orleans, 14080 State Rte. 31, Albion NY 14411 or to the Gaines Carlton Community Church.
