Edward F. Leppien, age 86, passed away on November 1, 2026.
Born and raised in Akron, New York, Ed built a life centered around what mattered most to him: his family. He was the devoted husband and best friend of Suanne, with whom he shared 65 wonderful years of marriage, love, and memories. Together, they built a family and a lifetime of experiences that will be treasured for generations.
Ed was a proud father of three children, grandfather of nine, and great-grandfather of three. His family was his greatest accomplishment and the center of his world.
A hardworking man, Ed retired from General Motors, where he worked as a welder. He was also a lifelong car enthusiast with a passion for racing and NASCAR. One of his greatest joys was his beloved 1940 Ford Coupe, which he proudly took to car shows and enjoyed sharing his passion for cars with family and friends.
Ed was a straightforward man who believed in calling things as he saw them. He never had much use for beating around the bush, and those who knew him understood that was just part of who he was. His honesty, personality, and love for the things and people that mattered to him made him unmistakably Ed.
Ed leaves behind a lifetime of love, laughter, friendships, and memories that will be cherished by family and friends. He will be deeply missed.
At this time, the family kindly requests privacy as they grieve and remember Ed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ed's name to Hospice WNY or the Newstead Fire Company
