Elaine Barbara Eckart

Elaine Barbara Eckart, age 90, died June 1, 2024 in Wynn Hospital following a long illness. She was born March 18, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY and had lived most of life on Long Island and in Florida.

Elaine was a member of the Order of the Easter Star, an over 72 year member of the United Church of Christ, a Past Matron of Ashawaugh Chapter and the Canal Side from 1987. She loved to travel, enjoyed reading knitting, crocheting, cooking and baking for her family. She spent over 8 years travelling the Country prior to returning to this area to help her daughter. Mrs. Eckart was predeceased by her parents John and Edna Stemmermann, sisters: Martha Mengelstor, Edna Loesche, Barbara Stemmermann, Dorothy Gibson and John Stemmermann.

She is survived by her daughter: Karen (William “Bill” ) McAllister, 2 sons and one other daughter, 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Her family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, 21 W. Ave. Albion Monday November 11th 11:00am-1:00pm where her Memorial Service will follow at 1:00pm.  Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the OES Hall & Home Foundation, 106 Pounder Hall,1400 Utica St. #106, Oriskany, NY 13424.
