Brockport: Elizabeth A. Gardner, age 100 passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026 at her home. She was born on September 27, 1925, in Rochester, New York to the late Vincent and Ottilia (Nau) Fischer and was raised in Dutchtown.
Elizabeth moved to the Kendall area around the 1950s after her husband, Samuel Gardner, had come home from the war. In her free time, she enjoyed crafting and crocheting. She worked at SUNY Brockport as a cleaning lady in the dorms, where she loved engaging with the kids at the college. She was proud to be a part of the Schuhplattler Verein Heidengold German Club and was awarded a lifetime membership.
In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, Samuel Gardner; daughters, Doris Albanese and Kathleen Akey; brother, Vincent Fischer; and sister, Rose Clays.
Elizabeth is survived by her son, Samuel (April) Gardner; grandchildren, Charmaine (Dominic) Gregori, Yvette (Bernell) Moyer, Jakob Gardner, and Matthew Gardner; great grandchildren, Dominic, Zach (Amanda), Maleena, Donald (Janelle), and Blake; great great grandchildren, Austin, Dalton, Jaidyn, and Jamisyn; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service for Elizabeth will be held on Wednesday, June 17th at 12:00pm at West Kendall Cemetery,
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the Schuhplattler Verein Heidengold German Club, Federation of German American Societies, INC., P.O. Box 24524 Rochester, NY 14624.
