Elizabeth A. Kennedy

February 4, 1944 — April 22, 2023

(Clarendon) Elizabeth A. Kennedy 1944-2023. Mom was called to service in the Lord’s kitchen in heaven, where she’s likely organized the pantry, planted a vegetable garden, and is probably cooking up a feast with her brother Parm, and sisters Sue and little Sally.

She was a nurse for nearly 40 years, usually providing care for the elderly in nursing homes or hospice. When she retired, she worked as a substitute school nurse, and in her spare time planted gardens, helped clean and re-organize her church, canned every manner of things, wrote fantastic stories of life on the farm, continued to be the glue that held our extended family together and was generally 10 times busier than before her retirement.

Betsy was predeceased by her parents Harold Palmer and Eleanor (Weeks) Wilder; siblings Susan Sauer, Parm Wilder, Sally Wilder. She is survived by her husband Larry Kennedy; children Peggy Petronio, Mark (Jean) Petronio, Trina Kennedy; grandchildren Carl (Jill) Bourke, Mary Rose Bourke, Angela (Ryan) Spelman, John (Allyshia) Petronio, Cassandra Walter, Evan Press; great-grandchildren Rilynn, John, Isabella, Ethan, Alana, Jada, Kinsley, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Supportive Care of Orleans, 14080 Rte. 31. Albion NY 14411. Arrangements were entrusted to the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home Holley NY.
