Erna Emma Wilhelm

Erna died peacefully on July 8, 2025 in Albion, NY. She was born in Germany to the late Paul and Emma Battke.

Erna enjoyed visiting her home and family in Germany where she was born; reading novels; dancing the waltz with her husband, Johann Wilhelm; walking along the beach and hiking in the woods with her family; jogging…she came in third place in a 5k run at the age of 55; camping in their RV in FL over the winter where they yearly met up with numerous friends; and, one of her dearest memories was watching her husband play soccer for 50 years in both Germany, in their younger days, and then on LI with son, Robert.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband in 2007.

Erna is survived by her children Ursula O’Connor and Robert Wilhelm; by her grandchildren Dave and Kevin O’Connor, Brian, Matthew and Kenny Wilhelm; great-grandchildren Erin, Zachary, Steven, Lucas, Renee, Ben and Sean O’Connor. She is also survived by two precious great- great- grandchildren, Harvey and Eleanor O’Connor

All were dearly loved and cherished by Erna, all of her life.

There are no prior calling hours. Erna’s funeral service will be held at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home 21 West Ave. Albion, NY 14411 on Tuesday, July 15th at 10:30am. Interment will take place privately at Pine Lawn Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY
