Ernest P. "Bizz" Friend Sr.

(Gasport) Ernest P. Friend Sr. "Bizz", passed away October 4, 2024 at Sisters of Charity Hospital. He was born January 29, 1944, in Sutton WV, a son of the late Burley and Geneva (Carpenter) Friend. After graduation from Sutton High School, he moved to the Gasport area where he spent the rest of his life.

Bizz enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing guitar. He retired from Simonds Saw and Steel Facility in Lockport where he had worked for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter Cindy Friend and brother Sonny Friend.

Bizz is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Eleanor; children Lisa Hayes, Pamela Friend, Sarah (Keith) Pyle, Ernest "PJ" Friend Jr.; grandchildren LeAnne Wruck, Johnny Amons, Cole Amons, Kala (Dale) Sweeney, Caty Friend; several great-grandchildren; sisters Norma Barnett, Sara Friend as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

His Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday October 10th at 11:00am at the Calvary Baptist Church, 405 Lincoln Ave. Lockport NY 14094. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Sherrie Bream Funeral Home, Gasport.
