Gail J. Allen

Albion: Gail J. Allen, age 72, passed away July 11, 2026, at Medina Memorial Hospital. She was born February 19,1954 in Albion to the late William and Joan (Zorn) Hudson.

Gail spent her career putting her nursing skills where they mattered most — as the school nurse at Albion Elementary, where generations of kids knew her as a steady, comforting presence, and as a devoted nurse and advocate with Hospice of Orleans County, walking alongside families during life's hardest chapters. An adventure lover she and Bill were always ready to pack a bag, and together they logged plenty of miles visiting children and grandchildren wherever they landed. Ocracoke Island, NC held a special place in her heart, and the memories made there will stay with her family for years to come.

Gail is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Bill, children, Kory (Gina) Allen of OH, Brian (Naomi) Allen of CO, Joanna (Jonathan) Himes of GA, grandchildren, Brady, Cody, Grace, Simon, Emma, Gabriel, Silas, and Caleb, brother, Mark (Ellen) Hudson, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gail's family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home 21 West Ave. Albion, NY 14411Friday July 17th 4:00pm-7:00pm where her Memorial service will be held Saturday at 10:30am.
