George "Gil" Wolcott Jr.

Albion: George “Gil” Wolcott, Jr., passed away April 10, 2026. He was born October 6, 1943 in LeRoy to the late George Wolcott Sr. and Jean (Peterson) Wolcott.

He was a proud graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in dairy science and furthered his education at SUNY Brockport where he earned a master’s degree. Gil was the former owner and operator of Wolcott’s Dairy in Albion. He also kept busy after the family business working as a bus driver for Albion CSD, plow driver for the Town of Barre and also working at the Post Office in Albion. He loved corvettes or any old classic car and also caring for horses. Gil was an amazing man who always kept busy but always was sure to make time for his family, and especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved wife Donna in 2022, sisters Kay Chalmers and Eve Siconolfi.

Gil is survived by his children, Tim (Betsy) Wolcott, Karen (Mike) Reid, grandchildren Jordan (Lacey Standish) Wolcott, Mhari (Bryson) Thomas, Cassidy Wolcott, Johnathan (Charlotte) Reid, Kylie (Nick) Helton, Cade Wolcott, Toby Reid, great-grandchildren Brantley and Henry, sister, Ann (Larry) Wheat as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services for Gil will be held privately.

Gil’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home 21 West Ave. Albion, NY.
