James Randolph Woodhams, age 90, died in Orchard Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center following a long illness. He was born December 27, 1934 in Albion to Randolph and Veronica (Baker) Woodhams and was a life-long resident of this area.
Jim was the owner of JR Furniture Store in Albion for many years. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and spending time with his grandchildren as well as with his beloved dog, "Chalupa". He worked for Owens Illinois for over 17 years before he retired and in his spare time loved going "junk'n".
Mr. Woodhams was predeceased by his wife Garnett Woodhams, sons: Leo and James Woodhams as well a sister: Sister Roseanne Woodhams.
He is survived by his children: Sabrina (Gary Smith) Woodhams of Rochester, Mary (Cary DeClerck) of Albion, Jackie (Joseph) Lawrence of Albion, Dina (Joe) Farone of Albion, Richard (Abby) Lowe of Holley, Crystal (Anthony Simmons) Lowe of Albion, his sister: Rose Moriarty of PA, 22 grandchildren, several great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home, 21 West Ave. Albion, NY 14411 on Monday, November 10th from 5:00-7:00pm where his Funeral Service will be held immediately following calling hours at 7:00pm. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association 225 N. Michigan Ave. Floor 17 Chicago, IL 60601, or the Orchard Manor Resident Activity Fund 600 Bates, Rd. Medina, NY 14103.
