In Loving Memory of Jan Joseph Lorwa

March 30, 1955 – March 13, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jan Joseph Lorwa, who passed away peacefully in his home at the age of 69, just 17 days shy of his 70th birthday.

Jan had a lifelong passion for all things automotive and took great joy in attending car shows and working on cars. He cherished the time spent with his friends and family, valuing those relationships above all else. He loved watching the Game Show Network, collecting unique treasures, and filling his home with beautiful flowers and houseplants. Sundays were reserved for church and relaxation, and no football season was complete without cheering on the Buffalo Bills. His kindness and unwavering love and support for his family and friends will be dearly missed.

Jan is survived by his two children, Sarah Nicole McNamara (Michael McNamara) of Salt Lake City, UT, and Stephen John Lorwa (Ashley Lorwa) of Maple Grove, MN. He was a proud grandfather to Merrick and Hudson Lorwa, who brought him endless joy. He is also survived by his two brothers, Dennis Larwa (Jacqueline Larwa) and Michael Lorwa (Judith Lorwa), along with many nieces and nephews and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Irene Lorwa.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Lange Funeral Home, Inc., located at 186 East Avenue in Lockport, on March 24th, from 4pm-7pm. A funeral Mass will be held at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 5442 Tonawanda Creek Road, in North Tonawanda, on March 25th beginning at 10am.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making donations to the Niagara County 4-H program as Jan loved to be on the farm, his kids were in 4-H growing up, and attended the Niagara County Fair almost every year.

Jan's legacy of love and generosity will live on in all who knew him. His memory will forever be cherished.
