Janet W. Lyndaker

Janet Lyndaker, age 88, of Middleport, passed away peacefully at her home on October 25, 2025. Janet was born in Middleport on June 29, 1937, and was the daughter of the late F. Douglas and N. Mildred (Farewell) Whitney. Janet was a lifelong resident of Middleport and a 1956 graduate of Roy-Hart High School. She was a former employee of Sigma Motor Inc. and attended the Middleport United Methodist Church. Janet was active in many local organizations. She was President of the PTA when her children were in school. Janet was one of the four founding members of the Middleport Area Tourism and Beautification Committee, and a member of the TWIG Association for Medina Memorial Hospital. Janet was an avid photographer of the Lake Ontario sunsets and enjoyed spending summers at the lake cottage. Janet received the greatest joy spending time with her grandchildren and attending their activities.

Janet was predeceased by her loving husband of 57 years, Harvey Lyndaker.

She is survived by her children David Lyndaker (Natalie Speegle) and Heidi Lyndaker; grandchildren Allison and Christopher Lyndaker; her extended family at the lake and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Janet’s family will receive friends at Bates, Wallace, Heath Funeral Home 38 State St. Middleport on Friday November 7, from 4:00-7:00. Janet’s funeral service will be held at the Middleport United Methodist Church, 9 Park Ave Middleport, NY 14105 on Saturday November 8, at 11:00am. Interment will follow at West Ridgeway Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094 or charity of your choice.
