Jean A. Dressler (nee Stover) of Newfane went to her glory home to be with her Lord on October 28th, 2025 quietly at home. "Absent from the body, but present with her Lord".
Born July 23rd, 1931 in Oil City, PA, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Anna Ruth (nee Albaugh) Stover.
Jean, a self-taught pianist, organist, and also the accordion. Over the years teaching many piano students. As a young woman, Jean sang with her sister Myrna as part of a quintet for the Nazarene Church Radio Program in Bradford, Pennsylvania. The program was aired weekly.
A graduate of Bradford Senior High in Bradford Pennsylvania in 1949. She was an employee of the Lockport Felt Mill in Newfane from 1958 to 1969. Lockport Felt Company produced a felt product that was essential to the paper industry.
Predeceased by her husband, Walter Dressler, they were married on October 16th, 1954.
An active member of Hess Road Wesleyan Church for over 60 years. Playing the piano and organ, doing Vacation Bible School programs, Mother's Day programs, and teaching Sunday School. Continuous faithfulness to the work of her Lord. Jean and Walter traveled all over the country with The Channels, Bryan Meahl and David Leathers for 15 years. Jean on the piano or keyboard, and Walter doing the sound and the taping of the programs. They traveled as far West as South Dakota ministering in music. She was also an avid bowler for many years. Holding positions as Secretary and Treasurer. Her entire life legacy is loving her family and serving her Lord wherever, whenever and whatever He needed from her. A faithful servant for all her life.
Jean is also predeceased by her three sisters, Frances (nee Stover) Cleveland, Myrna (nee Stover) Rhodes and Patricia (nee Stover) Stevenson.
Jean is survived by her two sons, Leslie (Lettie) Dressler of Newfane, William (Mary) Dressler of Barker. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at Hess Road Wesleyan Church 2514 Hess Road, Appleton on Saturday, November 1st from 10:00-12:00 with her funeral service to begin at 12:00pm with Pastor Matt Rose officiating. Interment will be held at Cold Springs Cemetery, Lockport.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to Niagara Hospice of Lockport or Hess Road Wesleyan Church.
Jean's arrangements have been entrusted to the Sherrie Bream Funeral Home 4521 Main St. Gasport, NY.
