John A. Pera

Obituary of John A. Pera John A. Pera age 87, died September 26, at Lakeside Memorial Hospital. He was born April 3, 1923 in Holley a son of the late Frank & Antonette (Salerno) Pera and was a life long resident of Holley. John served in the US Army during WWII as a Scout in the 2nd Battalion 22, Infantry Regiment and served in the following battles; Hurtgen Forest, Bulge (Ardennes) and the Rhineland. He earned seven medals, most notably the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He was a member of the Jewel Buckman Post 529 American Legion and a charter member of the Post 202 VFW of Holley.
