PENSACOLA – Joseph Ciarico, 93, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026, in Pensacola, Florida. A proud veteran and dedicated public servant, Joseph led a life marked by service, commitment, and community.

Born on March 18, 1932, in Albion, New York, Joseph was the son of Patrick and Anna Ciarico. He grew up in a close-knit family alongside his siblings Anthony Ciarico, Karen Ciarico Miller, and Sister Barbara Ciarico. He graduated Albion high school class of 1949.

Joseph devoted much of his life to serving his country. He retired from the United States Air Force after a distinguished military career that included service during the Vietnam War. Following his military retirement, he continued his dedication to public service with an additional 20 years in civil service before retiring once more.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Joseph was an active member of his community. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post 240 and the Warrington Elks Lodge BPOE #2108. These affiliations reflected his enduring commitment to camaraderie and civic involvement.

Joseph was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Ciarico (Patroni), and his second wife, Fay Ciarico (Kubica). He was also predeceased by his parents and his sister, Sister Barbara Ciarico.

He is lovingly remembered by his stepdaughters, Angie Parsons, Cindy Follman, Sandy Mitchell, and Patti Hayes; six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins; his brother Anthony Ciarico; and sister Karen Ciarico Miller.

Special thanks are extended to close friend Nell Lubeski for her support and companionship.

A life of service such as Joseph’s leaves a lasting legacy. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.

Per his wishes, there will be no local funeral service. His cremated remains will be interred in Kenyonville Cemetery with military honors at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wreaths Across America at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, Florida.
