Kenneth E. Farewell

Kenneth E. Farewell, a treasured husband, father, grandfather, and friend, peacefully passed away on Saturday, November 29th, 2025, at the age of 84. Born in Niagara Falls, New York, Ken spent his life leaving a legacy of kindness, hard work, and dedication.

Ken was a member of the community of Middleport, where he resided with his beloved wife, Linna, with whom he shared 57 wonderful years of marriage. A dedicated family man, he is remembered fondly by his son, Warren Farewell and his wife Imelda, as well as his cherished granddaughter, Trisha Jay Liwagon-Farewell. Ken has now been reunited with his parents, Ervin and Arlene (Newton) Farewell, who preceded him in death.

Ken served his country with honor as a member of the United States Air Force from 1958 to 1962, during the Cuban Missile Crisis. His time in the service was marked by a storied commitment to duty and patriotism.

Professionally, Ken was a respected Project Manager at Wendel Engineering in Lockport, where he used his skills and passion for building and design. A man of diverse interests, Ken held a Private Pilot License and had a zest for drag racing, gardening, and observing the wildlife that surrounded him. Always a do-it-yourselfer, Ken was never far from a project that needed his expert touch.

The family will welcome friends to celebrate Ken’s life at the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home, 38 State Street, Middleport, on Friday, December 5th, 2025. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 12 Noon. Interment will take place immediately afterward at West Ridgeway Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY, 14094, or The Middleport Fire Department, 28 Main Street, Middleport, NY, 14105, in Ken's honor.
