Obituary of Leighton H. Slim Johnston (ALBION)
Leighton H. "Slim" Johnston, Maj. USAF,(Ret.) age 89, died at his home June 27 after a long illness. Mr. Johnston graduated from Groveland High School, Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, OK, and attended the University of Buffalo. He was a B-24 pilot in the South Pacific during WWII. After the war he was employed by the NY State Dept. of Motor Vehicles as a Senior Investigator retiring in 1982. Slim was a member of the Albion First United Methodist Church, the Albion Renovation Lodge F&AM, Albion BPOE #1006, the Sheret Post #35 American Legion, and the 307th Bombardment Association.
