Linda R. Brien

Linda R. Brien, age 81 of Barre Center, passed away on September 16, 2026.

Born October 7, 1944 in Medina, she was the daughter of the late Bertrand and Gladys (Davey) VanAuker. For a short time in her early years, Linda attended a schoolhouse in Knowlesville before attending Medina High School where she graduated.

Devoted to her husband and household, Linda took pride in taking care of her home and gardens. She could often be found in her flower beds, mowing her lawn and enjoying the birds, chipmunks and butterflies that visited. Linda will be fondly remembered by her family for being a great cook and baker. She also found joy in playing poker and bingo.

In addition to her parents, Linda was predeceased by two children, Kimberly K. Erway and Eric D. Erway; and siblings, Jerry (Terri) VanAuker and Betty Mastromonico.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 42 years, Richard Brien Sr.; 3 children, Robin (Erway) Moore, Bertrand Erway, Troy Erway, and 3 step-children Richard (Danielle) Brien Jr., Tim (Theresa) Brien, and Wally (Julie) Brien; grandchildren, Kimberly Welday, Kyle Erway, Kaeyla Erway, Brandon Erway, Nicole (Erway) Cavadias, Ashley (Brien) Murray, Zach Brien and Patrick Brien; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no formal services held at this time and will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home, 21 W. Ave., Albion.
