M. Joette Knapp, age 96 died peacefully in her home November 1, 2025.  She was born June 16, 1929 in Salamanca, NY to Floyd and Mary (Fuss) Schwalb.  She graduated from Salamanca High School in 1947 and then went on to attend and graduate from Millard Fillmore School of Nursing in 1951. 
Following graduation from nursing school, Joette took a job at Arnold Gregory Memorial Hospital in Albion.  While at Arnold Gregory, she also was the assistant manager of the TWIG Gift Shop.  She served as Head Nurse Supervisor for the Red Cross Blood Bank in Kendall for over 30 years.  Joette was a 50 year + member of the Kendall Fireman's Ladies Auxiliary, and served as the Town of Kendall Historian from 1999-2012.  She was also a 50 + year member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Kendall serving on church council and several committees.
Mrs. Knapp was predeceased by her husband Yorke F. Knapp whom she married on June 21, 1952 and her beloved "Patches".
She is survived by her children: Nyan Fackelman of Tonawanda, Yorke B. (Donna) Knapp of CO, her grandchildren; Anna Knapp, Stephanie (Jeffrey) Karl, Chelsey (Shawn) Cantie, great grandchildren: Austin, Tyler, Owen, Jacob, Aliana, and Zachary.
There will be no calling hours.  Joette's graveside service in West Kendall Cemetery will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
