Margaret “Peggy” (Ruhlman) Tucker VanNostrand, age 94, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2023 at her home.
She was born March 5, 1929 in Albion to the late Edward and Vera (Schmitt) Ruhlman. Peggy was a member of the American Legion Post #35 Ladies Auxiliary, the St. Mary’s Athletic Club, Junior Wilson’s Sportsman Club, and a member and past President of the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed Turner Classic Movies, Euchre, as well as singing and dancing with the “Brick Band”, pull tabs and scratch-off tickets. Peggy particularly loved family gatherings and loved her cats. Mrs. VanNostrand was predeceased by her first husband: Gerald Tucker, her son: Jerry Tucker, son-in-law: James Hecht, her second husband: Gary VanNostrand, her step daughter: Cherylynn, and step grandson: Jackson as well as several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her children: Nancy Hecht, Carol (Brad) Rouse, Judy (Vic Vaicys) London, Ron Tucker, Marc (Lisa) Tucker, stepson: Jeff (Jeannie) VanNostrand, sister-in-law: Kay VanNostrand, 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 3 step-great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Peggy’s family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home 21 West Ave.-Albion, NY 14411 on TUESDAY 8/8/23 from 2-6 where her Funeral Service will be held immediately following visitation at 6pm. Private interment will be held in Mt. Albion Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
