Gasport- Mark S. Clare, aged 68, entered into rest on February 18, 2023 at his home. He was born on May 26, 1954 in Amherst to the late John and Cecelia (Thuman) Clare.
Mark liked taking trips to Disney, playing sudoku, the guitar, and playing with his dogs. Family dinners were very important to Mark, as well as their annual 4th of July parties- complete with a waterslide and water-balloon wars. He always enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren: who had lovingly referred to him as “Oopa”.
Mark is survived by his doting wife of 46 years, Pauline (Nowak) Clare; a son, Paul (Jennifer Garver) Clare; a daughter, Andrea C. (Jason) Koons; four grandchildren, Alyssa M. Clare, Jackson B. Clare, Josephine C. Koons, and Juliet M. Koons. He also leaves behind three siblings, Cynthia (Ben) Wells, Victoria (James) Wallace, and Daniel (Lisa) Clare; nieces, Krista (Jose) Ramirez, Kara E. Wells, Jessica (Alexander) Obukhov, Jacquelyn (Mike Ashworth) Coffin, Lindsey N. (Aschan) Richards, and Rachel E. Clare; and nephews, Adam P. (Adrienne) Wells, Daniel P. (Erin) Coffin, and Steven L. Clare; and his rescue dog, Virgil.
