Myra M. Turner, age 87, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2025, at Medina Memorial Hospital.
Myra was born May 17, 1938, in Angola, NY, the eldest child of Carl and Wilma Milius and grew up on the family dairy and grape farm in North Collins, NY.

Following graduation from Keuka College, she moved to Albion to work at The Albion Advertiser. She retired in 1995 from NYSDOT.
Mrs. Turner is survived by her son, Allen of Barre; her daughter, Mary Turner Vargas and granddaughter, Elena Vargas, both of North Brunswick, NJ; her sisters-in-law, Karen Turner and Luana Lipka; three generations of nieces and nephews and her beloved furry grandchildren.
Myra was pre-deceased by her husband, Mark H. Turner of Barre; her brother, Micheal Milius and her sister, Barbara Milius, both of North Collins; her brother-in-law, Robert Turner of Barre and his son, Robert; her niece, Lisa Weisedel of Eden, NY and her son, Eric.

Myra was a member of Barre Center Presbyterian Church, where she served in many capacities through the years, she was also a lifetime member and past President of Barre Center Fire Auxiliary, a member and Secretary of Barre Grange, and she served a short term as Barre Town Clerk and was active in the town’s historical celebrations.
She loved sewing and quilt making, hot air ballooning, reading and history.

A graveside service will be held on July 26, 2025 at 11am, in West Barre Cemetery. Myra’s funeral arrangements were entrusted to Christopher Mitchel Funeral Home of Albion.
