Norman G. Pearson

(GASPORT)

Norman G. Pearson, age 90, died July 30, 2026 in Niagara Hospice. He was born December 6, 1935 in Gasport, a son of John E. and Mildred E. (Retchless) Pearson and was a life-long resident of this area.

Norm was a United States Air Force Veteran having served in Vietnam and retired after 35 years as a Chief Master Sergeant. Throughout his military career, he had received many honors, among the highest was being selected as the 1st Senior Enlisted Advisor representing 5000 plus Air Guardsmen and Bases through New York State. He also served as an aircraft maintenance instructor and was a member of the Retired Air Techs and Retired Air Guard...better known as RATS and RAGS.

He retired from GM Harrison Radiator after serving 17 years as a Fire Protection Administrator. Norm received his Associates Degree in Fire Science and served 27 years as a Niagara County State Fire Instructor, was an active member of the Gasport Chemical Hose Company for 73 years, served on the Town of Lockport Fire Advisory Board, the Niagara County Fire Chiefs Association, the New York State Fire Chiefs Association and the Fireman's Association of the State of New York. He was also a member of the Covenant united Church of Christ, a former Board member of the Orangeport Cemetery Association, the Sunrise Optimists Club of Lockport, Past President of the Niagara County 4H Council, was very active in various 4H Clubs including the Orangeport Rangers and served as a Board member of the Niagara County Historical Society. Mr. Pearson was predeceased by his wife: Joan Wolfe, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

He is survived by his children: Rick (Tammy) Pearson of AZ, Pamela (Scott) Brauer of Gasport, his brother: George (Nancy) Pearson of FL, 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, Dear Friend: Melissa Dunlap as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on THURSDAY AUGUST 20th from 4PM to 7PM at the Gasport Chemical Hose Company, 8412 State Street, Gasport, NY, 14067 where his Funeral Service will be held FRIDAY AUGUST 21st at 10am. Private interment with Military Honors will take place in the Western New York National Cemetery in Corfu, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: The Niagara County Historical Society, 215 Niagara Street, Lockport, New York, 14094 or the Gasport Chemical Hose Co., 8412 State Street, Gasport, New York, 14067. Norm's arrangements have been entrusted to the Sherrie Bream Funeral Home of Gasport.
