ALBION
Paul F. Fulcomer, a beloved husband, father, brother, and veteran departed this life on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at the age of 78. Paul was a cherished resident of Albion, NY, where he spent many memorable years.
Born May 13, 1947, Paul lived a life marked by dedication, service, and love for those around him. A proud United States Navy veteran, he served with honor on a Swift Boat during the Vietnam War. His commitment to his fellow veterans was evident throughout his life, culminating in his role as the Director of the Orleans County Veterans Service Agency. As a life member and Past Commander of the Medina VFW Post 1483, Paul was a devoted supporter of veteran causes and was actively involved with the American Legion and the Orleans County Joint Veteran's Council. He also served as the Past County Commander of the American Legion and past member and Commander of Medina American Legion Post 204.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Diana, and his daughters Sandy (Andrew Spies) Fulcomer of Clarendon, Mallory (Dan) Berry of Medina, and Lori (Jack) Stewart of Medina. His legacy continues with his cherished grandchildren: Ryan Scheitheir, Madison Stewart, Alyssa Jenks, and Mason and Charlotte Berry. He is also survived by his brothers Rusty Rearigh, Mike Lear, William Lear, Danny Lear, Jim Palmer, sisters Brenda Fazzino and Anna Lear, Sue Hill, and Laura Burnett. Paul leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, brothers- and sisters-in-law, including his "partner in crime," Bruce Albone of Albion. His heart and home were further filled with the companionship of his treasured Jack Russell Terriers, Delilah Rose and Levi Carter.
Paul was predeceased by his brothers Norman Overman, Bobby Palmer, and Don Palmer, his brother-in-law Douglas Albone, sister-in-law Linda Brownell, his nephew Nathan White, and his niece Yuko Farman. Together with these family connections, Paul's heart found its greatest joy in the company of his grandchildren and in watching their baseball and softball games.
An ardent vehicle enthusiast and a member of the Albion Lodge #1006 BPO Elks, Paul delighted in woodworking, camping, and cruising in his Corvette. He also treasured the simple pleasure of daily coffee gatherings at the Village House Restaurant with friends.
The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home, 21 West Avenue, Albion, on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 4 to 7 pm. A funeral service will be held at the same location on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 11 am. Family and friends are invited to attend his burial with military honors at the Western New York National Cemetery in Corfu, on Thursday November 6th beginning at 1pm. Please line up at the cemetery by 12:45pm.
