Raymond A. Pasterz, age 89, died April 23, 2026 unexpectedly at Gates Vascular Institute in Buffalo. He was born July 23, 1936 in Buffalo and was a life-long resident of this area.
Ray was a United States Army Veteran providing service during the time between the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was an employee of the General Motors Engine Plant in Tonawanda and for 30 years, he was a Law Enforcement Officer with the Niagara County Sheriff Mounted Patrol Division. Mr. Pasterz was predeceased by his wife Joan, his son Gary his brother Henry and his sister Gerry.
He is survived by his daughter: Linda Pasterz of Barker.
Per Ray's wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. A private burial will take place in Hartland Central Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN, 38105 or The Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS, 66675-8516. Ray's arrangements have been entrusted to the Sherrie-Bream Funeral Home of Gasport.
