Rebecca Ann “Becky” Allport, age 72, passed away on December 14, 2025, after a year-long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 18, 1953, in Albion, the daughter of the late Arlene and Jack McGuire and had lived in this area all her life.
In her younger years, Becky earned the nickname “Rebel,” a fitting name for someone who loved to joke, laugh and enjoy life with her friends. She carried that fun-loving spirit throughout her life.
Becky graduated from Albion High School in 1971 and went on to college to become a dental hygienist. She began her career working for a dentist in Lockport before moving to the Albion Correctional Facility. She spent most of her career working alongside Dr. Karl Heuer, where she remained until she retired.
Becky was a loving and devoted wife and mother. Becky was married to the love of her life, Newell Allport, for 49 wonderful years. Her greatest joy came from time spent with her family, especially her two daughters, Shannon (Chris) Birmingham and Jamie (Scott) Langbauer, and her four cherished grandchildren: Ruth and Max Birmingham, and Jack and Parker Langbauer.
Becky is also survived by her brothers, Richard (Maggie) Sherriff and Garrett (Mary) McGuire; father in law Harry Ritz, sister in laws Linda (James) Babcock and Carolyn (Bruce) Sidari; brother in law Donald (Debbie) Allport as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Becky was predeceased by her parents and her mother-in-law Patricia Ritz.
Throughout her life she developed many passions which included playing baseball to beating her husband in a round of golf. The Tuesday Golf League became a very meaningful part of her life during the last two years. She was very creative and enjoyed many artistic outlets that she liked to share with her family and friends, but her true love was watching and caring for the numerous Hummingbirds and Orioles that would return each year.
The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home 21 W. Avenue, Albion, Friday January 2, 2026 from 4:00pm-8:00pm.
