(Barre) Richard W. Brien, Sr. age 77, passed away October 3, 2026 at Highland Hospital. He was born June 5, 1949, in Albion, a son of the late Wallice and Audrey (Webster) Brien and had lived in this area all of his life.
Dick was a member of the Albion Rod and Gun Club in Barre. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed deer and turkey hunting with his boys. He was a heavy equipment mechanic and excavator, working for Keeler Construction Company, J&I Disposal and B&C Excavation where he retired. Dick never let any grass grow under his feet and was always busy tinkering with things. He was known as the "BOSS" of Root Rd., making sure no one was slacking off on the job. Most importantly, he loved his wife of 42 years, Linda, who passed away September 16, 2026.
In addition to his parents and wife Linda, Dick was predeceased by his step-son Eric Erway; brother-in-law George Curtis; sister-in-law Maryann Brien.
He is survived by his sons Richard (Danielle) Brien, Jr., Tim (Theresa) Brien, Wally (Julie) Brien; step-children Robin (Erway) Moore, Bertrand Erway, Troy Erway; grandchildren Ashley (Brien) Murray, Zach Brien, Patrick Brien, Kimberly Welday, Kyle Erway, Kaeyla Erway, Brandon Erway, Nicole (Erway) Cavadias; several great-grandchildren; sister Judy Curtis; brothers Tom Brien, Randy Brien, Ronnie (Sandy) Brien, Jeff (Cathy) Brien, Gary Brien, Ben Brien as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
His and Linda's Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday October 7th at 4:00pm at the Albion Rod and Gun Club, South Lime Kiln Rd. Albion/Barre. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at, https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html. Arrangements were entrusted to the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Albion.
