Richard E. Schalk

Middleport: Richard E. Schalk, age 80, passed away unexpectedly on February 1, 2026. He was born December 28, 1945 to the late George and Marjorie (Everett) Schalk.

Richard was very active during his life. He served in various roles including being a former deacon at Hartland Bible Church in Gasport, Past President and Treasurer of the Lockport Rotary Club, he received a lifetime PTA membership for his service to the Royalton Hartland School District. He was honored by the Junior Miss Pageants Board for his years of service with the pageant and received a Community Leadership award from the New York State Cosmetology Association. Richard was an avid reader, enjoyed dancing, hosting game nights and he especially loved spending time with his family traveling.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Robert Schalk.

He is survived by his loving wife Arlene, children Nadine Schalk, Derek Schalk, and granddaughter Regina Mejia and older brother Donald Schalk.

Calling hours for Richard will be held at the Sherrie Bream Funeral Home 4521 Main St. Gasport, NY 14067 on Tuesday, May 26th from 4:00-6:00pm with his memorial service to follow at 6:00pm. Private interment will be held in Bates Road Cemetery in Ridgeway.
