(Rochester) Robert A. Banks, 70, passed away unexpectedly on December 30, 2025, leaving a void in the hearts of all who knew him. Born in Ontario, Canada, he relocated to Rochester at a young age and spent his life building a home and a community here.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Bob carried a sense of duty and hard work into his career as the owner and operator of Banks Trucking. He was a man of many passions—whether he was perfecting his swing on the golf course, feeling the freedom of the open road on his motorcycle, exploring new adventures during travel or finding peace while hunting, hiking, and camping. Above all else, Bob was a family man; nothing meant more to him than the time spent with those he loved.
He was predeceased by his brothers Richard, William and Jerry.
Bob is survived by his devoted wife and partner of 41 years, Kimberly; children, Frederick (Rebecca) Banks, Matthew (Emily) Banks, Timothy Banks, and Melissa (Al) Snyder; cherished grandchildren, Elaina, Levi, Mia, Matthew Jr., Claire, and Cora; sisters, Helen and Fran; in-laws, Jennifer (Jeff) Stremick and Keith (Erin) Bartlett; his faithful furry companion, Chewie as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A private interment was held at Mt. Olivet - Brockport, NY on Saturday, January 3, 2026. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be announced.
To honor Bob’s generous spirit, consider donating to a charity of your choice in lieu of flowers. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Holley NY.
