Robert C. McElwain Sr.

Lockport: Robert C. “Bob” McElwain, Sr., age 88, passed away peacefully under the care of Niagara Hospice and his loving family at his side. He was born October 23, 1934 in Lovingston, VA to the late Clifton G. and Susie J. (McLaughlin) McElwain.

Bob served his country in the U.S. Airforce during the Korean War and continued his service at the Niagara Falls Airforce Base, working as a technician on fighter jets. He was very active in rifle shooting, and was a member of the U.S. Rifle team, traveling all over the United States for competitions. During his time on the team, he earned countless awards and medals for his skills.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Audrey in 2008, siblings, Eugene, David, Samuel, Patty, brothers-in-law, Doc, and Daniel.

Bob is survived by his sons, Robert C. (Nina) McElwain, Jr., Clifton S. (Cathy) McElwain, Sr., step-son, Ted (Lona) Pazik, grandchildren, Amber (Mike) Troidle, Eric McElwain, Cliff S. McElwain, Jr., Justin McElwain, Megan (Zach Sellers) McElwain, Ashley (Jonathan) Abrams, Lewis (Bonnie) McElwain, great grandchildren, KeShawn, Jaden, Croix, AJ, Max, Austin, Paige, Ryder, Layla, Kaylee, Shelby, Connor, Aaron Pazik, Kenneth, Christopher, sister, Hope, special friend, Joanne Ridgway and her daughters, Judy, Nancy, Christine, Brenda, Susan, sisters-in-law, Lucy and Daisey as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bob’s family will receive friends at the Sherrie Bream Funeral Home on Thursday, June 22nd from 4:00-7:00pm, Friday June 23rd from 4:00-7:00pm and his funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 24th at 11:00am at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow in Huskey Cemetery.
