Sharon Parker Anderson, age 78, from Batavia and formerly from Albion, NY passed away September 15, 2026 in Hospice Care at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. She was born May 27, 1948 in Lockport, NY, daughter of Eleanor (Meahl) and Russell Parker.
She graduated from Newfane Central School and from SUNY Geneseo with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. She was a much loved and dedicated first grade and kindergarten teacher for 33 years at Oakfield-Alabama Central School. She was a member of the Albion First Presbyterian Church where she was a Deacon and member of the choir. She previously belonged to the Oak Orchard Yacht Club, where she and her beloved Ted sailed the Dandelion Days. Sharon enjoyed traveling, playing golf, flower gardening, birdwatching, reading, attending her book club, and singing in the church choir. Her favorite activity however, was spending time with her many friends and family. Sharon was a Buffalo Bills Fan and a cat lover, rescuing several cats.
Sharon is survived by her sisters, Carol Gavin, and Julie (Chuck) DerSarkissian, and her sister in laws Maryann Parker and Linda Heron Wind Hyland nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews, and countless wonderful friends.
Besides her parents she was also predeceased by her adored, best friend, and husband of 40 years Theodore Anderson Jr., her brother Thomas Parker, and brother and sister in laws, Mick Gavin, Richard and Donna Anderson, and Paul Hyland.
Sharon's Memorial Service will be held at the Albion First Presbyterian Church 29 E. State Street, Albion, NY on Saturday September 19th at 10:00am followed by a luncheon and a private family interment.
