Sharon M. Schlegel

Albion: Sharon M. Schlegel, age 68, passed away peacefully at home on January 29, 2026. She was born July 12, 1957 in Albion to the late George and Beverly (Schuler) Mufford.

Sharon was an excellent baker and enjoyed singing at West Barre Church. She was known for her apple pie, cherry pie, apple crisp, sweet rolls and everything else that she baked or cooked for her family to enjoy. Sharon was a devoted grandmother and time with her grandchildren brought her so much joy.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her stepdaughter Carrie Schlegel and granddaughter Catrina Maynard.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband George Schlegel Jr.; children John Grose, Sarah (Paul) Lusk, Mary (RJ Kingdollar) Grose, Howard Grose, George (Patty) Schlegel III, Pam (Jeff) VanOrden; 21 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers Gary Mufford, Bob (Cathy) Mufford, Rick (Julie) Mufford; step-mother Pat (Bob) Fox, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sharon’s family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home 21 West Ave. Albion, NY 14411 on Thursday, February 5th from 4:00-7:00pm. Her celebration of life service will be held at the West Barre Church 5377 Eagle Harbor Rd. Albion, NY, 14411 on Friday, February 6th at 11:00am.
