Sierra S. Woods

Sierra Sue Woods, age 67, passed away suddenly on August 20, 2025, after a long health battle. Born on April 5, 1958, to Arthur and Mary Alice (née Heschke) Woods as their only child, she grew up in Gasport, NY, where she would live in the area for the rest of her life.

Sierra graduated from Royalton-Hartland in 1976 and went on to obtain multiple degrees from Niagara County Community College and received her LPN. She worked various jobs since age 16, but her most treasured position was at Briody's in Lockport, NY, for 17 years. There she enjoyed spending time with her long-term patients speaking German, discussing old television shows, and discussing local events with her rehabilitation patients.

She majored in music and enjoyed musicals, singing, and was often playing the piano or organ in her spare time. She volunteered her time for many years to help with Sunday School and the Christmas Pageant at Zion Lutheran Church in Gasport. She was also involved in 4-H and miniature horses, being a team leader for many years and helping with various trips and events. In her free time, she enjoyed crafting, ceramics, movies, her music box collection, and spending time with family.

She is survived by her daughter, Afton Brousse, and many cousins, aunts, and friends. Memorial services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 4447 Central Ave., Gasport, NY, 14067, on Sunday, September 7th at 12:00 p.m., with a luncheon to follow in the church's recreation area. There will be no prior calling hours; a private interment will be held at the family's request.
