Stephen C. Yoder, a Veteran of the United States Navy, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026, at the Veterans Home in Batavia, New York, where he had been a resident for nearly ten years.

Steve was born on September 30, 1948, to the late Charles Yoder and the late Dorothy Smyles in Rochester, New York.

Steve was a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served with honor and love for his country.

Following his service in the military, Steve married Natalie Sara in Long Beach, California, in 1970. Stephen enjoyed building model cars, camping, and had a great sense of humor.

Stephen was an assistant scout master in Albion, NY, and loved teaching the youth survival skills.

Steve's legacy of humor, perseverance, and learning will be carried forward by those who had the privilege of knowing him. His life will forever be an inspiration, a testament to the power of an indomitable spirit enthused with curiosity and resilience.

He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.

Steve is survived by his wife of 56 years, Natalie of Pulaski, NY; son, John of Japan, who is also a Navy Veteran; Seven grandchildren, and two sisters, Barbara Rieber Endicott, NY, and Mary Vervalin of Appalachian, NY. Steve had another sister, Ruth Cady of Owego, NY, who preceded him in death. Steve is also survived by his close friend, John Bull of Holley, NY.
