Thomas A. Hardy

Clarendon: Thomas A. Hardy, age 81, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2026 at Hildebrandt Hospice. He was born October 22, 1945 in Rochester to the late George and Agnes (Kramer) Hardy, Sr.

Tom loved to tinker on old cars, and was especially proud of his 1940 Oldsmobile and 1935 Plymouth. He enjoyed his time working at NAPA Auto parts in Brockport as a delivery driver for many years after his retirement from Valeo. Lunch at Burger King with his friends was a ritual that he looked forward to. Tom had many Weiner dogs over the years and his beloved cat Blackie. Cherished moments on the back porch with his family are among the favorite times they all shared.

In addition to his parents, Tom was predeceased by his daughter Karin.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Mary Jane, daughter Maggie (Anthony) Gravino, grandchildren Lindsay (James) Gunn, Brady Smith, siblings George (Linda) Hardy Jr., Barbara (late William) Cappoli, as well as many nieces, and nephews.

Tom's family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home 16650 State Route 31 Holley, NY 14470 on Thursday November 12th from 4:00-6:00pm where his funeral service will follow at 6:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Rochester Regional Health Foundation 330 Monroe Avenue, Suite 400, Rochester, NY 14607.
