Thomas James McCormick

Naples: Thomas James McCormick, age 85, passed away unexpectedly at his home on May 3, 2026.

Born August 23, 1940 in Tonawanda, NY he was the son of the late John and June (Walter) McCormick. Tom graduated from Kibbler High School at age 18. He went on to work in Buffalo as a bus driver. Tom then worked as a bus driver for Ridge Road Express in Lockport. He continued on to work for Regional Transportation Service (RTS) out of Rochester. Lastly, he worked briefly for a local library and was in the Coast Guard.

In 1965, he married Sharon Schurr of Wilson, NY and they proceeded to start a family, having 3 wonderful children. He later married his surviving wife, Darlene, and they had 2 wonderful children together. Tom was a proud Christian man who lived for the Lord. His family was one of the most important things to Tom, and he always looked forward to family outings. Some of their favorite places to go were Stoney Brook, Letchworth, Sandusky, and Hershey Park for their family trips. Also near and dear to his heart were his times spent having picnics or camping with his family. Tom also loved restoring old cars, and was an avid Blue Jays Baseball fan. He liked to play cards and boardgames, as well as riding on trains and trolley cars.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Sharon Hydufie.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife, Darlene McCormick; children, Bonnie (Shawn) Miller, Michael (Paula) McCormick, Daniel McCormick, Carl Bray, and John McCormick; step-children, Dave Bray and Dawn Kriegar; grandchildren, Destiney Carberry (Mat), Evan McCormick, Elliott McCormick, Brendt Gardner, Cameron Fisher, Mariah Beers (Travis), Faith Bray, Caleb Bray, Landon Bray, Ella McCormick and Arlo McCormick; great-grandchild, Waylon Conklin; siblings, Jack (Kathy) McCormick, Kevin (April) McCormick and Lisa (Jim) Manzo.

Tom's family will receive friends at the Sherrie Bream Funeral Home 4521 Main St. Gasport, NY 14067 on Monday, May 11th from 9:00-11:00am, with his funeral service starting at 10:00 am. Interment will be held in Italy-Naples Cemetery 6295 Italy Valley Rd, Naples, NY 14512, NY at 2:00pm.
